Mango Trip Planner is developed by Mango Productions Innovation. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the app you agree to these practices.
📥 Information We Collect
- Apple identity (via Sign In with Apple) — we receive only a unique user identifier and, optionally, your name and email address.
- Trip data you create — trips, itinerary events, expenses, member details, and balances — is stored in Apple iCloud (CloudKit) and is private to your account.
- A display name and emoji avatar you optionally set in your profile.
- Step counts synced from Apple HealthKit — used only to show your activity within a trip and never shared externally.
- Device notification tokens — used to deliver push notifications you have opted into.
- Receipt photos you scan — processed on-device by Apple's VisionKit; no image data is sent to our servers.
🔒 Permissions We Request
- Camera — to scan receipts and fill expense details. Images are not stored or transmitted.
- Photo Library — to import receipt images you select. Images are not stored or transmitted.
- Contacts — to pre-fill email addresses when inviting trip members. Contact data is never uploaded.
- Calendar — to add itinerary events to your personal calendar. We only write events you approve; we do not read your existing calendar.
- Health (Read) — to display your step count inside a trip. Data is only read locally and never transmitted.
- Notifications — to send reminders and trip activity alerts you opt into.
☁️ iCloud & CloudKit
All trip data is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework. Mango Productions Innovation does not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy applies. Shared trips are visible to the members you explicitly invite.
🔗 Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob — we use Google AdMob to display interstitial advertisements in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID) and usage signals to serve ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device's Privacy settings. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat — we use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and entitlements. RevenueCat may collect purchase transaction data and a pseudonymous device identifier. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Pexels — destination cover photos are fetched from Pexels using their public API. No personal data is sent to Pexels. See Pexels Privacy Policy.
- Crisp Chat — if you contact support via the in-app live chat, Crisp receives your messages and device metadata. See Crisp Privacy Policy.
🚫 Advertising & Remove Ads
The free version of Mango Trip Planner shows interstitial ads powered by Google AdMob. Purchasing the "Remove Ads" upgrade removes all advertisements. Purchase status is verified via RevenueCat and does not require an account beyond your existing Apple ID.
🗑️ Data Retention & Deletion
Your trip data lives entirely in your iCloud account and can be deleted at any time by deleting the app or using the Restore / Clear options in Settings. Mango Productions Innovation does not retain a copy of your trip data on independent servers.
To delete your account and associated data, sign out and delete the app. Your iCloud data can be managed in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud on your device.
👶 Children's Privacy
Mango Trip Planner is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
🛡️ Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Access or export your trip data by using the Share as PDF feature.
- Delete your data by deleting the app and clearing your iCloud data.
- Opt out of personalized ads through your device's Privacy settings.
- Request information about data held by third parties by contacting those parties directly.
Residents of California (CCPA), the EU/UK (GDPR), or other jurisdictions with privacy rights may have additional rights.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
